The journey began in 2008 with the desire to create a program for children in my local area which includes an after-school tutoring center and online assistance for students, parents, and educators. After receiving my teaching certificate in EC-6, 4-8 Generalist, and 7-12 Composite Science; I was excited to hone the knowledge and skills needed to find a focus of concentration within the program. I realized that schools, homeschooling parents, and educators don't have enough time in the day to build solid lesson plans, let alone fun lesson plans with all the bells and whistles. Where are those lesson plans that have across curriculum writing, TEXAS TEKS and Common Core labeling, related library books for your student's intervention or enrichment opportunities? Resources such as these are few and far between, and so this Non-Profit Organization has been born with students in need, after-school help with homework by qualified teachers, educational connections with local organizations including the local library, and resources for educators who want their weekends back.
